Nancy and Doug were such a fun couple. I had a great time working with them and Nancy's mom Jackie.
The day started off a little on the shaky side LITERALLY. The couple was to be married under the same huappah that Nancy's sister used 6 years earlier. It was made out of tree logs and went perfect with the rustic decor at Mavris Arts and Events Center. Unfortunately, there was an accident. A friend of the family was assembling the huppah and she fell off the ladder and broke her arm. I called 911, a first in my wedding planning career. Getting married under a huppah is very important in Jewish traditional so I knew something had to be done. I called one of our great friends Julie Acheson from Royal Creations and asked if she could help me out. Julie saved the day. The huppah made out chiffon and it was beautiful.
The ceremony started right on time and when Doug and Nancy were pronounced husband and wife there wasn't a dry eye in the room. The reception decor was simple but elegant. The couple loves their cats so in lieu of favors a donation was made to the Grant County Humane Society. Everyone enjoyed dinner and dessert and the dance floor was full the entire night. The day was a huge sucess.
