RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY PLEASE…………….

Happy Mother’s Day

I started praying the moment I woke up to thunderstorms and gushing winds on Sunday morning that I would have a window of opportunity to have this Mother’s Day wedding outside (Private residence tented wedding). For the first time in CCP History we were rained out. I was talking with my dad earlier that day and told him I was rained out. He wanted to know if the wedding was cancelled. “We don’t cancel weddings dad,” I explained, “just like in show business, the SHOW MUST GO ON!” And that’s exactly what we did. Most of you know how much I love the theatre and this show was one I will never forget with lots of FUN Drama! Hilary and Clay are from LA, originally from Indiana and high school sweethearts. This couple of 14 years had one wedding everyone will remember for years to come. With PLAN B in place, my dream vendor team truly came together to get this wedding started. At 9:00 AM Mike Wiggins from A Classic contacted me at home (as I was enjoying my morning Mother’s Day Starbuck’s with my kids J) to notify me the kitchen tent was under water. Luckily the guest tent was installed on Wednesday before the major storm hit Cicero. Way to go Mike! Jennifer from Thomas Catering was ready to move to Plan B with her crew as soon as she arrived. Julie from Royal Creations saved the day by creating a perfect ceremony setting inside the tent. I kept saying Rain, Rain Go Away but that never happened. With our cute lime green umbrellas we just continued on like it was beautiful spring day (Indiana weather UGH!). With the smile on Hilary’s face, I knew nothing was going to stop this wedding. Guests started arriving and were dropped directly off at front of the tent. The charter bus was running a few minutes late with several guests coming from Keystone at the Crossing, so we decided to serve a few drinks to allow the early guests to socialize. 15 minutes behind schedule finally the bus arrived. We were ready to get started. With the help of Brian Whitis and Julie the umbrellas were ready to go (team players). Finally, we had everyone in their seats and the bridal procession began. The guests sitting at their seats cheered as the groomsmen and bridesmaids as they entered the tent. We created the perfect ceremony on the dance floor (PLAN B) with the arbor, lemon uplighting, and private seating for the family members. Clay’s facial expression said it all when he saw his beautiful bride. After the ceremony, the guests were served lemon drop martinis and hors d’ouvres. The cruditA display was spectacular and devoured by the all. The Carl Hines jazz band entertained the guests as the bridal party went out by the lake to take pictures. Jamie from JScott Photography ignored the rain and took awesome pictures outside by Morse Lake. We were finally back on schedule. Introductions by Eddie, the bride’s friend, created a FUN atmosphere. He was the hit of the night on the dance floor. Food stations were open and the winds started picking up. After a few cocktails and plenty of tasty food, the cold evening warmed up as Brian Whitis filled the dance floor. The guests didn’t want the evening to end. At one point you could see your breath when you were talking to someone, YIKES. Despite the weather Hilary and Clay enjoyed their evening and were husband and wife at the end of the night. The father of the bride walked up to me at the end of the night and said, “Tonya, you’re my hero!” Another great testimonial for why you need to hire a wedding planner to make it happen whether RAIN or SHINE. Happy Mother’s Day! After 6 years of marrying couples, this is one I will NEVER forget!

Designer Dress For Sale

One of our past clients is selling her designer Melissa Sweet wedding gown. Here are some pictures and more information. Please contact her if your interested!

Description: Want a designer gown but cant afford it? I am selling my Melissa Sweet Mila gown that was only worn for about 7 hours. Dress retails for about $3600 and i am selling it for $1800. I bought it from Saks 5th Ave. It is a size 8, make sure you buy your dress bigger than you are so you can have it altered to fit you. The best advice i will give you is to try on a melissa sweet gown and get sized for it so you know what size you need. My measurements are 36-30-38. Bustle is extremely easy, underneath the dress are ribbons and you just tie #1 to #1 and so on. The only alteration done to my dress was length i am 5 6" tall and the dress is suppose to be assymetrical and a little longer than normal so should be able to alter to fit you.

I had the dress dry cleaned after the wedding so it is waiting to have a new owner. Great deal and a chance to have a designer dress for a decent price!

I am more than happy to have you over to my house to look at the dress or even try it on. My email is wiggitywin@yahoo.com if you are interested, please contact me with any interest or ?s you have.

Isabella Dianne Kornmeyer

Well, she's finally here! Izzy took her sweet time coming in to this world but she was well worth the wait. Matt and I arrived at the hospital at 8:15am ( I drove) and they started the drugs to induced labor. At 3pm I was well on my and feeling quite comfortable with help from the epidural. Isabella was born at 8:49pm. She weighed 8 pounds 7 ounces and was 21 inches long. The 3 of us left the hospital 48 hours later and were so happy to be at home. This past week has been crazy to say the least, yucky dirty diapers, late night feedings and absolutely no sleep. But the rare moments that she does sleep and those little smiles that she makes are so precious. Enjoy the pictures!

Jacqueline and Dave

Our first wedding of the season! I kept thinking it was Saturday the entire time. These Friday night weddings are becoming more and more popular. I like the late evening feel, it’s swanky and fun. To my surprise the guests were all on time too despite it being a Friday evening. I even made it there on time, regardless of my $150 speeding ticket on my way to the Omni. Pastor Kirby made it very special for Jacqueline and Dave by personalizing the vows and having her grandpa get up and talk about 50 years of marriage. The 2 cutest ring bearers you have ever seen didn’t quite make it through the ceremony, but captured the AWE from the crowd in their adorable suspenders and knickers. Jacqueline was absolutely amazing and her vision came to life when she stepped into that Melissa Sweet gown. Everything had a 1940’s feel from the décor to the feathers that accented the cocktail tables. Her band, Cool Swing City Band rocked the house with their 9 piece band and girl lead singer. They played everything from the 40’s era to swing music. The dance floor was packed until early the next morning. My feet were fine until the clock struck 1 and I was still packing up. What a sweet couple and a great event. They are now off to Cancun to honeymoon for the week. I told her to bring back some sunshine!

Our New Place

Tonya and I are so excited about our new office! We finally moved out of the home office and no longer meeting clients at Starbucks! The office building is great. Its so our style. Very contemporary, hip, modern. The building has little cafe even an exercise room but in my condition (9 months pregnant) I haven't even thought of going inside. We love our neighbors and everyone is very friendly. Here are some pictures if you haven't been able to make up and see it in person.

All Dressed Up

On Saturday, March 15th Tonya, Gretchen Schott (member of the Beauty Bash committee) and I attended the Starlight Ball. This was a fundraiser for the Julian Center. If some of you remember we hosted our own fundraiser last October called Beauty Bash. The Julian Center wanted to "thank us" for our $10,000 contribution so they gave us tickets to this event.

At the event there was a chance to win a 2.5 carat diamond necklace. You purchased a box and if your box number was picked then you won the necklace. I thought for sure I was going to win, only 250 boxes were sold! But when it was time to open the boxes to my surprise my box contained 2 peppermints and not the winning number. OH WELL, the money spent went to a great cause.
Saturday evening was fun for all of us. We got to get all dressed up with our husbands and have and great time with friends. This was probably the last time I get to do something like this before the baby!

AHHHHH Forgotten Engagement Story

This is Vicky and Dan's Engagement Story. I don't know how but never got posted. Its a great story so even though the contest is over I thought everyone would like to read it!

About a year ago my boyfriend decided that he wanted to do something more meaningful withhis life then just go to college. He told me that at the end of his sophomore semester at Purdue he was joining the Air Force. I was devastated because I was so afraid he would be sent overseas, but I soon realized that this was something he needed to do for himself. The few months before he left for basic we spent as much time as possible together, but August 1st came and I had to say good bye. While he was at basic the only communication I had with him were the letters I wrote to him every day and the few that I would get back in the 8 weeks he was there. I got one call to tell me when he would be graduating and those were the happiest 5 minutes in the whole 8 weeks he was gone. On September 19th his big sister, 4 month old niece, and I flew down to see him graduate from basic in San Antonio, TX. We watched him graduate in near 100 degree temperatures while we watched the graduates start fainting from heat stroke. On September 21st we were allowed to go off base with Dan and the entire family decided to go to the River Walk and take a tour of it. If you have never been to the River Walk it is absolutelybreath taking when everything is green and in bloom. We took a boat tour around the River Walk and then had dinner. As we were heading back to the car to take Dan back to base we stopped off at a little island called Wedding Island to take some cute pictures of Dan and I. His dad was videotaping us and his momand sister were taking pictures so that we could have pictures of us being cute. Dan told me that he had a surprise for me and I got so excited because, well I love surprises. He then told me that he had a question for me and my heart stopped. He then proceeded to get down on one knee in his uniform dress, get out a black box, and ask me to marry me. At that point my brain stopped functioning not only because I was surprised that he had asked me to marry him then, but because he had a diamond ring to give me. My brain finally caught upand I said yes! After we had hugged, kissed, said our “I love you” and he put the ring on my finger, we walked back to his family that had been standing there watching. While we were walking back, people from the bridge were clapping for us and others were telling us congratulations from the hotel rooms. When we got back to his family I found out that everyone had known and that he had been carrying the ring around with him since we had gone to his room to see where the recruits had slept during basic. I found out that he had written his sister and told her the exact type of ring I wanted, which surprised me because that meant he had listed all those times we had gone to look at rings. His sister, whom I had flown down with, had to when he purposed. When we got back to Indiana, we had 3 different pictures of Dan popping the question to me and a video tape of it. I could not have imagined a better proposal or more of a surprise. September 21st at 4:30 was the happiest day of my life or it is until July 19th when we become husband and wife.
