We here at CCP are all about eating healthy (when we can find time to eat) and working out. We know our brides out there want to look great on their wedding day and the best way to achieve that goal is to find a great work out routine that you will want to stick with. We recently had the privilege of meeting with Crystal Hammon of Yogic Bride who explained the benefits of starting to practice yoga as a way to get in shape for your wedding.

Over 70 percent of brides say they want to lose weight before their wedding. But nothing sets you up for a lifetime of yo-yo dieting more than an obsession with prewedding weight loss. "That's especially true if you are already at a healthy weight," said Crystal Hammon, an Indianapolis yoga teacher and owner of Yogic Bride. New science showing a link between yoga and weight control is making yoga one of the top fitness trends among brides.

No one knows why for certain, but people who practice yoga are more successful at losing and maintaining weight. One theory is that yoga makes people more susceptible to change by improving their ability to observe what is happening internally in an objective, non-judgmental way. That changes the relationship of mind to body, and eventually, to food and eating. If you want to change you're the way you think about food, yoga gives you the spiritual connection to your body that can help you make those changes.

Yogic Bride is offering 8 free bridal fitness classes to the first three brides who respond to this article at info@yogicbride.com.
