First Ever International Bridal Week NY 2010!

This weekend, the very first International Bridal Week debuted in New York! This three day fashion extravaganza featured the top European and American designers, brought together in a fantastic venue, Piers 92/94. This event is the first to bring all designers together for a more convenient and fun buying experience. New York is the mecca of the couture marketplace in the states and there is no better atmosphere or energy that will lend itself more to the success of this show! We see some awesome new taffeta designs, mermaid silhouettes and strapless gowns. We look forward to seeing the 2nd Annual International Bridal Week next season!

The PERFECT vintage wedding!

Could the weather have been more perfect this weekend? My bride this weekend couldn’t have been happier! When I met Leigh for the first time, she WAS a ray of sunshine walking into my office. I knew right away, she was MY kind of bride! She was artsy, adorable, and all about Etsy.com! She had done SO much work creating the perfect palette and style for her wedding at the Mavris Arts and Events Center. From vintage handkerchiefs and books, to custom-made fabric runners, and antique vases….she created what I call “perfectly organized chaos”! Everything was mismatched, vintage, a little of him, and a little of her. But yet, every detail was purposeful, planned, and PERFECT. The Mavris was the absolute BEST venue for her and her style, and CCD came in and finished off the details; she so carefully created with an eclectic mix of over 100 glass pieces with mixed florals. From sunflowers, dahlias, to zinneas, to Queen Anne’s lace and baby’s breath….a flurry of color, pattern and style that was just perfect for the modern “Do it Yourself Bride” who just happened to have an old soul.

Thank you for having me be a part of your special day!

SS. Peter and Paul and Scottish Rite Cathedral

What a fabulous day for a wedding!

Katie, Luann (Katie's mom) and I started planning from scratch. We had so much fun through the entire process. One of my personal favorites was going to the "Breakfast at Tiffany's shower".

Hair and makeup started early at the Omni hotel because the ceremony started right on time at 2pm. Saints Peter and Paul's Cathedral is spectacular, so not much was needed in terms of decor. As the ceremony began, Katie was standing up in the choir loft and was able to see everything that was happening in the Cathedral. It was a super cool moment! After the "I do's" Katie and Tom hopped into their Antique car and the bridal party got into the Hummer limo. Nathaniel Edmunds was able to take some great shots at the War Memorial and Monument Circle. After pictures it was off to the Scottish Rite Cathedral. The Ballroom and balcony looked AMAZING!!! I love doing events at the Scottish Rite and especially working with Renee from Thomas Caterers. Every event we do is different and is always FABULOUS. Katie and Tom's was no different. Renee displayed the hors d'oeuvres on black frames. Such a cool idea! Tiffany of Circle City Designers did another incredible job on the flowers and Evans A/V lit up the room with candlelight uplights and a super cool gobo on the dance floor and ceiling! The cake was simply delicous thanks to Heavenly Sweets.

After dinner the party got started! Everyone enjoyed the photobooth from Indy Photobooth. Katie had custom TOMKAT sunglasses made which was a big hit. The dancefloor was packed all night long thanks to Jeremy from DJs Direct! The evening was a complete success. After the reception was over, the party kept on going at the Subteria Lounge and the Omni Lobby. Although I wasn't there, Katie informed me that everyone had a great time and her brother Micheal had a little too much fun. The couple had their honeymoon in Hawaii!! I can't wait to have lunch with Katie and Luann tomorrow and catch up. A BIG thanks to my DREAM TEAM of vendors. You all are excellent at what you do!!!

Let the Sun Shine!

Mary Beth & Tom Hanson

October 2, 2010

Indianapolis Arts Center

As I drove to Broad Ripple Saturday morning I was thinking to myself we are going to pull off Mary Beth and Tom’s wedding outside under the portico at the Arts Center rain or shine. I spent all morning with the couple preparing for the day with their family and friends. We worked around the weather and managed to have everything set up as they took pictures together. My favorite moment of the day was watching Tom see Mary Beth for the first time. It was so touching and sentimental!

Just as we were about to start, the guests were escorted out into the tent to witness the beautiful ceremony. As the ceremony concluded, I could tell the sky was going to clear and give Mary Beth & Tom a chance to enjoy the sunshine on their special day. After all of the specials toasts, cake cutting, and dances, Uncle Vin led the guests and family members in a conga line and this definitely got the party started. The sun came out and guests were dancing the rest of the evening outside under the portico. Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Hanson!!! I truly enjoyed sharing your day with you both!!

Erin & Nick

September 18, 2010
Indiana Roof Ballroom

Such a fun and happy couple. Erin and Nick are both busy people and needed just a little help planning their big day. The ceremony and reception took place at the beautiful Indiana Roof Ballroom. The setting was breathtaking. Erin looked stunning in her dress and Nick so handsome in his tux. Erin had so many fun elements of her and Nick incorporated into the wedding. The place cards were chopsticks (homage to Nick's heritage) and the guests tables were all named after famous lawyers (the couple are both attorneys). Randi and I sat at the Matlock table. Dinner was amazing along with the staff at the Ballroom. The toasts that Erin and Nick's dads gave were so heartfelt and a bit funny too. The night was perfect!!! Congratulations!!!

Thank you for letting Circle City Planners be a part of your special day!
